Flashes Take Four Events on Day One of Akron Invitational

AKRON, Ohio – Kent State track and field was victorious in four events Friday evening at the Akron Invitational from Stile Athletics Field House.

The highlight of the night for Kent State was Cayla Carey's career-best performance in women's long jump blue division. Carey won the event with a mark of 5.92m 19' 5.25", moving her passed Kia Flowers (19' 4.75", 2001) for sixth place all-time in the Kent State record book.

Maria Horrigan came away with a victory in the women's pole vault blue division. Horrigan cleared the bar at 3.
