KENT, OHIO- Kent State swept this week's Mid-American Conference baseball awards with Ben Carew capturing his first Player of the Week and Luke Albright his first Pitcher of the Week of the 2020 season.
Albright earned his first win of the season on Friday night, tossing six shutout innings and handing Winthrop its first loss of the season. Albright struck out six against one walk and allowed eight hits in the 5-2 victory. The right-hander got out of trouble in the first inning, getting a fly out and strikeout to get out of a two-one, one-out situation.
