KENT, Ohio – The Kent State University field hockey team (1-3) shut out Saint Louis (2-3), 1-0 at Murphy-Mellis Field Sunday afternoon to notch its first win in the win column this season. Senior Courtney Weise scored the lone goal of the game for the Flashes.
"It's just nice to end the weekend with a positive performance," head coach Kathleen Wiler stated, "We are looking forward to getting back on the field Tuesday against Northwestern."
The Flashes were hot out of the gate in the first period, tallying the decisive goal on the team's second shot of the game at 2:50.
