KENT, Ohio - The Kent State field hockey team (3-9, 2-2 MAC) fell 3-0 to No. 7 Ohio State (12-3, 4-1 BigTen) this afternoon.
In the first half, both teams remained scoreless with the Buckeyes leading in shots (8-2) and corners (3-2).
With less than a minute left in the third quarter, Ohio State secured a goal to take the lead 1-0. In the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Buckeyes found their momentum and scored again. Converting a penalty corner, Ohio State brought the lead to 3-0 for the final.
Cecile van Eijck made five saves and Lauren Conroy secured her first career defensive save.
