FARMVILLE, Virginia – The Kent State field hockey team (0-1, 0-1 MAC) dropped its season opener with a 1-0 loss to Longwood at Elizabeth Burger Jackson Field.
Senior Emma Bressler led the offensive efforts for the Flashes with three shots, followed by junior Sydney Carr who fired two shots, both of which were on goal.
Longwood broke the tie at 42:19 when Floor Schouten scored her first goal of the season assisted by Ana Paula Lazaro.
The Lancers led in total shots (7-5) and shots on goal (5-3), while the Flashes led in penalty corners (5-2).
