KENT, Ohio – The Kent State field hockey team (11-4, 5-1 MAC) came out victorious in an overtime scare against Appalachian State, securing a 2-1 win.
The Flashes took a 1-0 lead into halftime with fifth year Clara Rodriguez Seto finding the back of the net off a corner as time expired in the second quarter. Kent State would hold their goal advantage for the entire second half until the Mountaineers decided to give the Flashes a taste of their own medicine. Junior Pauline Mangold struck for Appalachian State as the clock stuck zero in the fourth to send the game to overtime.
