HAMPTON ROADS, VA- The Golden Flashes dropped a pair of duals on Friday at the historic Virginia Duals, falling to #17 South Dakota State and the University of Virginia.
Against the #17 Jackrabbits, Pablo Castro got a pair of takedowns in his bout with #13 Derrick Cardinal, who pulled away in the third period. Meisner wrestled a defensive match with #33 Clay Carlson, recording a pair of escapes in a 5-2 loss.
Against UVA, Meiszner kept his strong wrestling going, defeating Joe Haynes by an 18-2 technical fall. Meiszner used a first-period takedown and a second period escape to gain the early momentum before turning things on in the third.
