ATHENS, Ga. – No. 14 Kent State finished the opening stroke play round of the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic with a 297, 9-over performance to be tied for 7th place entering match play on Saturday.
The Golden Flashes tied with Purdue and beat No. 1 Duke and No. 7 Arkansas by five strokes. No. 3 UCLA shot a 286, 2-under to sit in the lead.
Wad Phaewchimplee and Josée Doyon led the way with 1-over rounds to be in a tie for 12th place. Taylor Kim was 3-over and tied for 29th.
