KENT, Ohio – Kent State celebrated Senior Night at the M.A.C. Center with a 70-54 win over Bowling Green on Tuesday night as it jockeyed for position in the upcoming Mid-American Conference Tournament.
The Golden Flashes' win combined with Miami's win over Buffalo, Central Michigan's victory at Ball State, and Akron's win over Ohio helped KSU vault back into contention for a first-round bye heading into Friday's regular-season finale at Akron. KSU jumped all the way from sixth place into a tie for second in the overall MAC standings..
"Our guys wanted to win for our seniors, Khaliq Spicer, Chris Ortiz, Galal Cancer and Xavier Pollard," said Kent State head coach Rob Senderoff, whose Flashes improved to 19-11 overall and 10-7 in MAC games.
