KENT, Ohio – The Kent State field hockey team (5-1, 3-1) defeated Appalachian State 1-0 in their second game of the weekend at Murphy-Mellis Field to extend their win streak to five.
The game was tightly contested with both teams tying in shots (9-9) and penalty corners (2-2). Kent State finished with a narrow lead in shots on goal (4-3) having four different players register a shot on target.
Senior midfielder Clara Rodriguez Seto scored what would become the game winning goal for Kent State 8 minutes and 34 seconds into the first quarter.
