OXFORD, Ohio –The No. 2 Kent State University field hockey (8-11) team defeated No. 6 Appalachian State (7-14), 4-0 in the Mid-American Conference Tournament semifinal Friday afternoon at the Miami Field Hockey Complext to advance to the championship game. Three seniors, Jessica Apelt, Helen Harper and Courtney Weise, notched goals on the day in addition to a goal by sophomore Clara Rodriguez Seto.
"We wanted to put ourselves in a position to play for a tournament championship and that's what we did today," head coach Kathleen Wiler said, "We are looking forward to competing tomorrow!
