Kent State recently announced that Elvis Hines Jr. (Bradenton, Fla.) has joined the football program as a defensive back for the spring semester and will be eligible to play in 2017.
A recent graduate of IMG Academy, Hines was a part of a program that went 20-0 during his two seasons. The Ascenders finished as the No. 1 team in the MaxPreps South Region football computer rankings and the No. 4 team in the nation.
"Elvis is an aggressive player that tackles well in space," Recruiting Coordinator Mark Spencer said. "He was well-coached and we feel like he can play multiple positions in our secondary.
