EUGENE, Ore. – Kent State's Gabrielle Figueroa made her 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships debut in the women's hammer throw at historic Hayward Field on Thursday afternoon
Figueroa placed 17th with a top throw of 199'-11" to finish one spot better than her seed. The school record holder in the hammer sat in 14th following her first attempt of the competition but fouled on her final two attempts. Figueroa will receive All-America honorable mention recognition for her performance.
After scoring 3,965 points on the first day of the men's decathlon, TJ Lawson did not compete in the final five events on Thursday.
