AKRON, Ohio – The Kent State track and field teams wrapped up the first day of the Northeast Ohio Quad in Akron, Ohio, highlighted by Gabrielle Figueroa's victory in the hammer throw.
With a mark of 60.26m (197' 8"), Figueroa not only captured first place, but surpassed LeVania Henderson (191'-04.00", 2009) for third all-time in Kent State history.
In second place behind Figueroa was Jackie Leppelmeier with a mark 59.68m (195' 9"), followed by sister Rebecca in sixth at 53.75m (176' 4"), and Victoria Ross in tenth at 41.
