Cole and Scali Lead Flashes to Doubleheader Split with First-Place Chippewas

KENT, Ohio – Fifth-year Madyson Cole hit a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning and redshirt senior Andrea Scali shut Central Michigan down in the top of the seventh to give Kent State a 2-1 victory in the second game of a doubleheader Tuesday afternoon at the Diamond at Dix. The Chippewas earned a 4-0 victory in the opening game of the day.

The Golden Flashes (10-18, 2-8 MAC) collected six hits in each game. Cole, sophomore Madison Hershberger, junior Julia Mazanec and senior Brooklyn Whitt had two hits apiece to lead the way.
