Champen’s Personal-Record Highlights Day Two of Northeast Ohio Quad

AKRON, Ohio – Freshman Christian Champen recorded a career-best mark of 5.25m (17' 2.75") to finish tied for first in the pole vault on Saturday, the final day of the Northeast Ohio Quad.

Champen's mark moves him into ninth in the NCAA East Regional standings and ranks third all-time in Kent State history. Champen also competed in the long jump, taking fourth-place at 6.78m (22' 3"). TJ Lawson finished runner-up in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 7.14m (23' 5.25").

Finishing runner-up in the shot put was David Paliscak with a heave of 17.
