Cardiac Flashes Do it Again

FAIRBORN, OHIO – Danny Pippen's coffin corner three and Kent State's terrific defensive stop in the final three seconds pushed the Golden Flashes to a stunning 72-71 victory at the Ervin J. Nutter Center on Saturday night.

Kent State (3-0), which trailed by as many as 16, was once again able to withstand constant adversity throughout the game. Foul trouble and costly turnovers conspired against the Golden Flashes, but several clutch defensive plays and timely buckets brought KSU back in the waning moments of the second half. Pippen – who also banged a triple in overtime of Kent State's dramatic victory on Monday at Towson – was all alone in front of the KSU bench for the go-ahead triple.
