KENT- Head Football coach Kenni Burns has announced the promotion of Kody Morgan to Defensive Coordinator in advance of the 2024 season.
Morgan served as the safeties coach and co-special teams coordinator during the 2023 season. Last season, safety Bryce Sheppert led the team in both solo and total tackles at 55 and 79, respectively. Both marks were amongst the best in the Mid-American Conference a season ago.
Prior to Kent State, Morgan coached at North Dakota State where he coached cornerbacks from 2018-21 and coached safeties and served as the special teams coordinator in 2022.
