KENT, Ohio – Senior Emma Bressler fired a shot off a penalty corner into the back of the net during the 35th minute Friday afternoon, as Kent State beat Ball State, 1-0.
The Golden Flashes (6-3, 4-3 MAC) improved to 3-0 at at Murphy-Mellis Field with their second consecutive shutout on home turf. Kent State controlled possession for most of the contest in a 9-5 advantage in shots and 9-1 lead in penalty corners.
It remained scoreless until 4:44 into the third quarter. After the Flashes earned a penalty corner, Bressler sent a low shot into the bottom right corner of the goal for a 1-0 lead.
