EL SALVADOR– Kent State track and field's William Barnes continues to make an impression on the international level, capturing the 110-meter hurdle title at the 2016 North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association U23 Championships on Saturday, July 16 in El Salvador.
In his last competition in preparation for the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics, Barnes edged Syracuse's Freddie Crittenden with a timely dip of the shoulder, finishing with a time of 13.58 to secure the win.
Barnes' personal-best and Puerto Rican national record time of 13.41 currently ranks 34th in the world heading into the Olympics.
