Not much went right for K-State Saturday night. Not in the first two sets, at least.
Ohio State was blocking everything, killing everything and taking advantage of Wildcat mistakes. It had all the makings of a straight-set victory, sending the Buckeyes to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament.
But the Wildcats had other plans.
They played angry, it seemed, and tied the match at two sets, forcing a decisive fifth.
But the resurgence K-State emptied the tank on fell two steps short, and Ohio State escaped with a win in five sets, 25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 23-25, 17-15, ending the Wildcats’ run.
