Slate: Kansas State women collapse down the stretch at West Virginia

Things were going so well for the Kansas State women in their return to action after a month-long layoff due to COVID-19 issues. With 4:36 to play at West Virginia, the Cats led 56-44.

Unfortunately, that’s when the wheels fell off. Not just one or two, but all four. Over the final four minutes, the Mountaineers outscored K-State 21-0 and sent the Cats down to a 65-56 loss. Kysre Gondrezick scored 12 points all by herself over the final 2:03, including hitting seven shots from the stripe, to finish with 22 points for the Mountaineers, while Kari Niblack led all scorers with 23.
