SLATE: Kansas State baseball grabs first Big 12 win of 2019

Glory be, hallelujah, praise the mighty flying spaghetti monster.

Dylan Phillips tied the game at three in the seventh with a two-run RBI single, then came home himself on a single by Thomas Hughes, and the Wildcat bullpen hung on to give K-State (12-16, 1-5) a 4-3 win over tenth-ranked Texas Tech (18-7, 3-3) yesterday at Tointon Family Stadium.

The win put an end to a painful tailspin in 2019, but also marked the first Wildcat victory over a ranked opponent in their last 11 tries dating back to 2017.

The Cats will have a one-off tomorrow as they host Nebraska at 6:00 CT.
