On Sunday K-State golfer Connie Jaffrey was too sick to play her practice round at the NCAA regional at Madison, Wisconsin. No matter. She started hot on a course she had never seen, carded two early birdies and finished at even par, good for 18th in the field. It was a gutsy performance, considering she felt so bad a day earlier that she did not expect to be able to play at all. The second round is underway, with Jaffrey even through seven holes.
