sLATE: BatCats wrap up final mid-week game with a win.

Sorry for the late slate today. BTW, our “Morning Slate” warranty does not cover Acts of God (or deer), sorry.

Yesterday, the BatCats rode a 5-run first inning, and three more with crooked numbers, to a 13-8 win over former Big 12 rival Missouri Tuesday night at Tointon Family Stadium. Starting pitcher Dylan Phillips (who also served as the Cats’ DH for the day) picked up the win even though he only pitched two innings, giving up just one hit in 8 at-bats. But the K-State bullpen struggled with a weak Tiger lineup (worst batting average in the SEC), and Zak Herbers was chased after recording just one out but gave up three earned runs in the 3rd, while Eric Torres was the only one of five total relief pitchers used to not give up at least ope run (earned or otherwise).
