Slate: Barry Brown headed to Reese’s All-Star Game

There was no joy in Mudville last night, as the visiting Cornhuskers blanked the Wildcats 7-0, including a rare inside-the-park grand slam in the first inning. In the top of the first inning, K-State starter Joey Martin walked the bases loaded then Nebraska’s Jaxon Hallmark roped a line drive to the wall in right-center field to put the Cornhuskers ahead by four runs before the Wildcats came to the plate. There also was very little positive for the Wildcats offensively, as the BatCats only managed to get four hits on the evening.

There will be no rest for the weary, as the Wildcats are in Columbia, MO today to make up for a weather-delayed contest with Missouri.
