Malek Harris dismissed from K-State basketball team, Wildcats down to five returning scholarship players

MANHATTAN, Kan.

Malek Harris, a freshman reserve and former top 100 recruit, has been dismissed from the Kansas State men’s basketball team by coach Bruce Weber, the university announced Friday.

Harris is the fifth player to depart the program since the Wildcats’ ended their season with a disappointing 15-17 record, and the sixth player to exit in the past year.

Add on the losses of seniors Thomas Gipson and Nino Williams, and K-State is left with five returning scholarship players: guard Justin Edwards and forwards Brandon Bolden, Stephen Hurt, D.J. Johnson and Wesley Iwundu.
