Kansas State guard Ron Freeman will transfer

MANHATTAN

Kansas State freshman guard Ron Freeman has decided to transfer and continue his college basketball career at Northwest Florida State College.

K-State coach Bruce Weber confirmed the departure in an interview with the Eagle.

Freeman will leave K-State after one season in which he rarely played, averaging 0.6 points, 0.1 rebounds and 0.1 assists in 11 games. He scored two points in three different games, playing exclusively with reserves near the end of blowouts. Weber and Freeman discussed the possibility of sitting out the season with a redshirt, but Freeman opted to play.

A 6-foot-5, 185-pounder from Los Angeles, Freeman was the final member of K-State’s 2015 recruiting class.
