K-State women overcome power outage, down Chicago State

CHICAGO — A 65-minute delay did little to slow down Kindred Wesemann and the Kansas State women’s basketball team.

The Wildcats overcame a long power outage at the Jones Convocation Center that forced Saturday’s game to be moved to the nearby Dickens Center to defeat Chicago State 63-54.

K-State (6-1) came out of the half with a 34-22 advantage over the Cougars, but with a little more than half the third quarter played, the Jones Convocation Center lost power. When play resumed, the Wildcats finished the quarter with a 14-point spurt, led by seven from Wesemann, and held on to the lead in the fourth.
