K-State football coaching staff sticks together

MANHATTAN — College coaching is a nomadic profession, especially for the assistant coach.

The assistant’s fate is tied to that of the head coach, moving along to a new job or losing his job when the top coach is fired or takes another position. Assistants often are let go in shakeups to enable the head coach to keep his job for another year. In addition, it’s beneficial for assistants to move around to gain experience with different head coaches to expand their knowledge and resume.

The transient nature of the job makes the staff at Kansas State all the more unique.
