K-State basketball assistant Alvin Brooks accepts Baylor position

MANHATTAN — Alvin Brooks III, an assistant on Kansas State basketball coach Bruce Weber’s staff the past four years, resigned Wednesday to accept a similar position at Baylor.

Brooks is the first full-time staff change in Weber’s tenure at K-State. He was the Wildcats’ primary recruiter in the state of Texas and now the Houston native will be working in his home state on Scott Drew’s staff.

“The decision to leave K-State has been one of the most difficult in my professional life,” Brooks said. “I have learned so much from coach Weber about coaching and helping develop young people with integrity.
