K-State basketball adds Wainright

Kansas State filled one of its two open scholarships with one of the top remaining junior college players in the country on Thursday.

And his name is familiar to fans of the Big 12.

The Wildcats got a commitment from Ahmaad Wainright, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound sophomore guard at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas, who averaged 14.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists last season.

He is the younger brother of former Baylor basketball player Ishmail Wainright, who is now trying his hand at playing football for the Bears as a fifth-year senior.
