Johnson, Sneed help K-State overwhelm Saint Louis

ST. LOUIS

D.J. Johnson flopped down at his seat in the interview room, looked at the stat sheet and let out a groan Saturday night.

“I missed a righty layup. Aaaahhhhhhhh,” he bellowed. “I should have been 11.”

He was referring to his 11th shot and only miss of the night at Chaifetz Arena, where the St. Louis native had a stellar outing with 21 points and 10 rebounds in Kansas State’s 84-53 win over Saint Louis.

Johnson took control of the middle from the outset as the Wildcats built a double-digit lead in the first 10 minutes and then pulled away to win their first true road game of the season in front of 7,618 fans.
