Final push carries K-State women's basketball to NCAA Tournament; Cats play Friday

As the final month of the season arrived, Kansas State had a lot of work to do in order to be involved in the NCAA women’s basketball tournament.

“Whether they realize it or not, there was a stretch where we were one-and-done for about five games,” K-State coach Jeff Mittie said. “We pretty much played the month of February in our eyes that we had to get stuff done. This is one of the smartest teams I’ve had and they were smart enough to know our margin of error was slim.”

Coming off three straight losses – by margins of 15 points to Texas, 35 at Baylor and 20 at West Virginia – the Wildcats beat then-No.
