Bob Chipman is coming back to Kansas State for one last game with the Wildcats.
Chipman, who played for the Wildcats from 1971-73, is entering his 38th year as the head coach at Washburn. Before the season Chipman announced this would be his last.
The Wildcats and Ichabods face off at 8 p.m. Friday in Bramlage Coliseum in K-State’s second exhibition game. The regular season starts next Friday against Western Illinois.
K-State coach Bruce Weber met Chipman more than 30 years ago through former K-State player Gene Keady.
“A special guy,” Weber said. “(He’s) great for our profession.
