The noise around the Kansas State basketball program has nothing to do with what’s taking place on the court.
It’s more about what happens on the calendar.
K-State is off to a strong start, having won nine of the first 10 games, but the work the Wildcats have done so far is trending low in the RPI department — a crucial area if K-State hopes to make it back to the postseason.
The Wildcats are receiving votes in the AP top 25 poll, and they rank 33rd in the Ken Pomeroy rankings, but they are 114th in RPI.
