Cats end season, lose to Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY — Kansas State could not overcome crooked innings in the second and third despite late threats, and the Wildcats lost to Oklahoma, 13-7, on Thursday to be eliminated from the Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

K-State (26-31) scored first for the fifth straight game, but the Sooners (29-26-1) scored four runs in the second and six in the third to lead to the Wildcats’ season-ending loss and fifth consecutive defeat.

The Wildcats struck first when senior Tyler Moore hit a two-out, two-run single off Oklahoma starting pitcher Alec Hansen in the opening frame.
