Game-By-Game Prediction Of Kansas State's Record In 2016

The Kansas State Wildcats had their first losing season in eight years in 2015, going just 6-7 while dealing with a wide array of devastating injuries. Now healthy, head coach Bill Snyder's squad is looking to put those struggles behind them and return to their winning ways. Here's how we see the season playing out for Kansas State:

Week 1 - at Stanford Cardinal
Prediction: LOSS (0-1)

Stanford expects to compete for a College Football Playoff berth this season, and with such high expectations, they're going to come out ready to play in their home opener.

Week 2 - BYE

Week 3 - vs Florida Atlantic Owls
Prediction: WIN (1-1)

FAU won three games last year. They won't beat K-State at home off a bye week.

Week 4 - vs Missouri State Bears
Prediction: WIN (2-1)

Missouri State won one game at the FCS level last year. Easy win for the Wildcats.

Week 5 - at West Virginia Mountaineers
Prediction: LOSS (2-2)

I consider both of these teams to be on an equal plane in the Big 12 pecking order, but I'll give the nod to WVU since they're at home.

Week 6 - vs Texas Tech Red Raiders
Prediction: WIN (3-2)

Texas Tech is another team competing in the middle of the conference, but their apparent allergy to playing defense will be their detriment in this one.

Week 7 - at Oklahoma Sooners
Prediction: LOSS (3-3)

Quite simply, Kansas State just simply doesn't have the firepower to keep up with Oklahoma's explosive offense.

Week 8 - vs Texas Longhorns
Prediction: LOSS (3-4)

Texas seems poised to have a breakout season in the third year under head coach Charlie Strong. Kansas State will be reeling from their loss to Oklahoma, and that could lead to another loss.

Week 9 - at Iowa State Cyclones
Prediction: WIN (4-4)

Iowa State has been one of the worst teams in the Big 12 for some time. They won't provide the Wildcats with much of a contest.

Week 10 - vs Oklahoma State Cowboys
Prediction: LOSS (4-5)

Oklahoma State needs to replace some impact players on both sides of the ball, but I'm more willing to bet on Mason Rudolph over whoever starts for Kansas State at QB.

Week 11 - BYE

Week 12 - at Baylor Bears
Prediction: WIN (5-5)

Baylor is the kind of team that could fall into disarray without Art Briles, especially is they aren't competing for a title of any kind. I think Kansas State will catch the Bears napping and pull off the upset.

Week 13 - vs Kansas Jayhawks
Prediction: WIN (6-5)

Kansas will be lucky if they win a game this year, let along a Big 12 game against their bitter in-state rivals. K-State wins this one easily.

Week 14 - at TCU Horned Frogs
Prediction: LOSS (6-6)

This is another game that I think will be extremely close, but TCU gets the nod at home.
