Kansas State's 3 Most Likely Bowl Destinations

Kansas State lost their chance at a share of the Big 12 title with a loss to Baylor, but the Wildcats still have a shot to play in a very good bowl game and make one of the premier "New Year's Six" bowls. Where could K-State end up playing this year?

Cotton Bowl (At-Large vs. At-Large)

AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX

Thu., Jan. 1, 12:30 p.m. ET

Depending on how the College Football Playoff Selection Committee rankings play out, the Wildcats find themselves in the top 11, meaning they’d end up in one of the “New Year’s Six” bowls. The Cotton Bowl makes the most sense among those options for them given their location and large fan following Should Kansas State make it, they’ll probably face Michigan State or Ole Miss.

Valero Alamo Bowl

Fri., Jan. 2, 6:45 p.m. ET

Alamodome, San Antonio, TX

If fans want the most prestigious bowl available, the Alamo Bowl is probably the most realistic option. The Wildcats would likely face Arizona, Arizona State, or UCLA – tougher opponents than they might face in the Russell Athletic Bowl. A game in San Antonio would also be fantastic for K-State fans hoping for a short, easy trip to someplace warm.

Russell Athletic Bowl (ACC vs. Big 12)

Tues., Dec. 29, 5:30 p.m. ET

Orlando Citrus Bowl, Orlando, FL

The Wildcats are due to go to one of the ACC’s top bowls, and the Russell Athletic Bowl is the best they can do without playing in one of the “New Year’s Six” games. They would probably play Clemson, creating a matchup of contrasting offensive styles.
