Year in review: KU football goes winless

LAWRENCE — Kansas coach David Beaty seemed to understand the scope of his team’s rebuilding process during the week before the Jayhawks' first game in September.

“I'm really happy with where we've come and where we're at right now,” Beaty said. “But we still have a million miles to go.”

That same statement could easily be made now nearly four months later, as KU football’s 0-12 season is The Topeka Capital-Journal’s No. 6 sports story of 2015.

The Jayhawks’ second winless season in 126 years of football was historic. KU’s 553 points allowed were a new Big 12 record, and the Jayhawks’ march to infamy kept a mostly familiar script each week.
