Undrafted free agent Wayne Selden started the 2016-17 basketball season as a member of the NBA Development League’s Iowa Energy.
He finished the campaign as a starter for the Energy’s parent club — the Memphis Grizzlies.
“It was a roller coaster. It was a wild ride,” said Selden, a 6-foot-5 former Kansas guard who was not selected in the 2016 NBA Draft,
Selden returned to Lawrence this week and scored 16 points in Thursday’s Rock Chalk Roundball Classic KU alumni game at Free State High’s gym.
“It was worth it going to the D-League and stuff like that, barely getting to 10 wins,” he said.
