Ah, fall at the University of Kansas. That special time when leaves start changing and everywhere the scent of pumpkin spice in the air. In Lawrence, that also means expectations for another Big XII championship for the Kansas Jayhawks. They are also a contender for the National Championship. Since 2004 these expectations have been met every year.
It doesn’t matter if coach Self’s team includes underclassmen or upperclassmen. The newest member of the basketball Hall of Fame finds a way to craft together a team that is perennially dangerous in March.
But this is a new year, and for the other Big XII schools, hope springs (in the fall) eternal.
