After a number of frustrating teases, Sylvio De Sousa has been cleared to play for the Kansas Jayhawks. The 6'9, 240 pound big man was supposed to be part of the 2018 class, but announced in November he would graduate early from IMG Academy in Florida, and attempt to become eligible at semester.
It seemed like a long shot, but with depth already surfacing as a major issue for this year's team, it was a welcome bit of hope for fans.
De Sousa came to Lawrence over winter break, and has spent the last two weeks waiting for word from the NCAA that he could suit up.
