Some KU basketball fans cautiously monitor off-the-court headlines, while others remain tuned out

LAWRENCE — At a glance, the crowd at Allen Fieldhouse on Wednesday night was every bit a typical Kansas crowd.

The pregame traditions went off without a hitch. Moments before tip the students jumped up and down in the stands and screamed. Music blared from the speakers, causing the noise level in Allen Fieldhouse to surpass 117 decibels, according to the video board.

But covered beneath the noise and the atmosphere has been a tumultuous season off the court with several incidents, past and present, coming to light in the 11 days since the Jayhawks’ last game in their historic home.
