How did North Carolina men’s basketball coach Roy Williams learn that a Tar Heels fan named a dog after him and that the pooch had died? He did find about it, because a North Carolina fan named Whitney Shankland shared a condolence letter that Williams had written to her.
“I am honored Roy was named after me and he certainly was a true Tar Heel thanks to you,” Williams wrote in the letter Shankland shared on Twitter.
