One Kansas football player dismissed, another suspended following arrests

One Kansas football player has been dismissed from the team and another suspended, KU coach David Beaty announced Monday.

Eric Rivers, a cornerback who redshirted last season, is no longer with the team, while freshman linebacker Kendall Duckworth was suspended after both were arrested early Monday, according to the Douglas County booking log.

“I am aware of the situation and am in the process of gathering all of the facts,” Beaty announced in a statement. “Eric Rivers has been dismissed from the program for a violation of team rules. For the time being, Kendall Duckworth has been suspended from all team activities.
