Texas Tech, in its 18th try, has captured its first-ever victory over Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse.
The Red Raiders, who entered Tuesday’s Big 12 battle 0-17 in the Jayhawks’ tradition-rich building, proved worthy of their No. 18 national ranking, downing No. 10 KU 85-73 in front of a stunned sellout crowd of 16,300.
Keenan Evans scored 15 points, while Justin Gray, Jarrett Culver and Norense Odiase had 12 apiece for the Red Raiders (13-1, 2-0), who led by as many as 16 points (23-7) early in the first half, 11 points at halftime and by 13 points with 9:25 left.
