Missouri senior shortstop Corrin Genovese dove toward the third-base line to snare a grounder by Kansas freshman Erin McGinley.
Quickly getting to one knee, Genovese wheeled and gunned down Shannon McGinley for a game-ending force at second base.
With that, the Tigers’ dominance in the Border War continued Saturday during NCAA regional softball action at University Field as 10th-seeded MU rode a three-run, fifth-inning rally to a 5-3 victory and a berth in Sunday’s regional championship.
It was Missouri’s ninth straight win against the rival Jayhawks, who have refused to schedule the Tigers in any sport since the 2012-13 season.
