Kansas basketball coach Bill Self will not be rappelling down the 888 Lofts Building in downtown Lawrence on Saturday morning as he’d originally planned.
Self, KU’s 16th-year coach, announced on Friday that “unfortunately a minor hernia repair is going to sideline me tomorrow. The doctor says I need to wait a couple more weeks before jumping off any buildings. I will be there to watch our guys go over. Kurtis (Townsend, assistant coach), Jeremy (Case, video coordinator) and Hawk (former KU player Jeff Hawkins) are all going down the building for a good cause.”
Self added: “Boys and Girls Club is a great organization and we want to be out there to support the kids.
