Local sports briefs for Nov. 11, 2015: Hayden alumna wins KCAC cross country championship

Ottawa University junior Jordan Calderwood won the KCAC championship in cross country on Saturday in Marion.

Calderwood, a former Hayden standout, won the race with a personal-best time of 18:46.6, a whole 3 minutes faster than the second place finisher. With the victory Calderwood qualified for the NAIA National Cross Country Championships in Charlotte, N.C.

Calderwood is the first Ottawa cross country runner to win the KCAC title since Belinda Tummons won in 1980.
